Re: [MTC Global] Re : Vast Number of MBA seats are vacant

It is true! I am a Mechanical Engineer+ MBA(XLRI) and now Ph.D (Management).
But no takers from any management institutes for half the normal salary!
I am overqualified and with industry experience of over 30 years and teaching in
MBA programs for over 12 years!
This is the truth.
I find that the MBA programs in India lack the rigors to impart practical management
skills and experienced Managers from industry are shunned!
The syllabus is out dated and authorities are not serious about any changes!
But the environment will force necessary changes! As it is there will be less takers for
such MBA programs. Who is to be blamed?

The present ongoing scenario is not good for MBA. It happens because of lack of good faculty across MBA colleges. In most of the scenarios, MBA is not doing for getting job but just to upgrade the status in society. In present scenario, MBA is not Master of Business Administration , now it has become Mehangi BA (Costly BA).
Private colleges don't want to maintain well qualified faculty. During interview, they try to negotiate which candidate is ready to come at minimum salary. Qualification, Research work does not remain a selection criteria. It has become only a advertisement stunt. Many colleges recruit their own passout students as faculty who are just freshers. Lack of good faculty, lack of good inputs make them unemployable.

Subject: [MTC Global] Re : Vast Number of MBA seats are vacant

Dear all ,

I am In Gujarat for past few days . Today I read in News paper
In Gujarat [which is one of the Leading States In Country as far
as industrial development and Employment opportunities are concerned],
More than 70% of MBA seats are vacant .

No need to mention about vacant seats in engineering colleges.

Do you think we all have to think and need to reinvent the course design and
intentions?
